About our trees
Our trees are carefully selected, real Nordmann Fir Christmas trees which are grown on a dedicated Christmas tree plantation in Hampshire.
Although native to Turkey, the Nordmann Fir has become one of the most popular Christmas trees in the UK in recent years due to a combination of its appearance (a distinctive, deep green colour, bushy branches and beautiful shape) and its adaptability to life indoors (when looked after correctly, the Nordmann sheds very few needles).
Nordmanns take up to seven years to reach full height. Harvested trees are sorted into a series of grades, according to their appearance and the fullness of their branches. The trees that we sell are Premium First Quality, meaning that you can be sure of the quality of the tree you are getting, even if you haven’t seen it.
We sell trees in a range of sizes, from 4-8 feet. If you want a taller tree, please contact us and we will do what we can to find one for you. Don’t forget to take into account the height of the stand – a tree of 4 to 6 feet will be adequate for most modern flats and houses, and 6 to 7 feet will be sufficient for houses with high ceilings.
We also supply Christmas tree stands to fit all of our trees. These are quick to assemble, easy to store and can be used year after year. They are a useful way of ensuring that your tree is well displayed and that it has the water it needs to remain healthy as long as possible.
Looking after your treeIf you care for your Christmas tree properly, it will stay looking and feeling fresh for the whole of December. It is not hard, but you do need to follow these simple instructions to make sure that your tree remains in good condition:
1. When your tree is delivered, you should remove it from its net and stand it outside until you are ready to set it up indoors.
2. Before setting up your tree, cut off the bottom 5cm with a saw. As with cut flowers, this will enable the tree to draw the water it requires, so minimising needle loss.
3. If possible, use a purpose-built Christmas tree stand such as the Cinco 7 (you can buy one from us if you don’t already have one). This is designed to ensure that your tree can get the water it needs.
4. Make sure you keep your tree watered at all times.
5. Try not to keep your Christmas tree directly next to a hot radiator, as this will increase needle loss significantly.
